At ARINNI, we believe that a bag begins with its material.
The quality, character, and longevity of a leather bag are shaped long before the final stitch is made. This is why we are intentional about the leather we choose and the standards behind its production.
ARINNI always uses LWG-Certified, Custom-colored, Full-grain 100% cowhide leather.
For us, this is not simply a specification. It is part of our approach to creating pieces that are made to be worn, lived with, and kept for years.
What Does LWG-Certified Leather Mean?
LWG stands for Leather Working Group, an international organization that assesses leather manufacturers according to environmental and responsible manufacturing practices.
An LWG certification is awarded to tanneries that meet defined standards across areas such as environmental management, water and energy use, chemical management, waste management, and traceability.
In other words, the certification gives greater visibility into how the leather is produced, not just what the finished material looks like.
We believe this matters.
When choosing leather for ARINNI, we look beyond appearance and texture. We also consider the process behind the material and the standards maintained by the tannery producing it.
Full-Grain Leather: Keeping the Natural Character
We use 100% cowhide full-grain leather, the highest-quality layer of the hide.
Full-grain leather retains the natural grain and character of the hide rather than being heavily corrected or sanded down. Natural variations, subtle markings, and changes in texture are therefore part of the material itself.
This means that no two pieces of leather are exactly alike.
Over time, full-grain leather develops its own patina, gradually becoming softer and more personal with use. Rather than trying to make every piece look perfectly uniform, we allow the natural character of the leather to remain part of the design.
Custom-Colored for ARINNI
Color is another important part of our material process.
Our leather is custom-colored, allowing us to develop the specific tones and finishes that define the ARINNI aesthetic.
Instead of simply selecting an existing color from a standard palette, we work with carefully developed shades that complement each collection and its design language.
The result is a material that feels considered from the beginning — from its color and texture to the way it develops with wear.
Designed to Last
We do not believe in designing bags around short-lived trends.
A well-made leather bag should have the ability to remain relevant beyond a single season. Choosing full-grain cowhide leather is part of that philosophy.
Its durability, natural character, and ability to develop a unique patina allow each ARINNI piece to evolve with its owner.
For us, quality is not only about how a bag looks on the day it arrives.
It is about how it feels years later.
Our Material Standard
Every ARINNI bag begins with a deliberate choice of material.
LWG-Certified.
Custom-colored.
Full-grain.
100% cowhide leather.
These are not details we add after the design is complete. They are part of the foundation of every piece we create.
Because we believe that exceptional design deserves exceptional materials — and that the materials behind a product should be worth knowing.
